Low Carb
DinnersThose who are on special
diets, or are following specific ways to eating, have a hard time
sometimes when they want to go out to eat with friends and family.
Though eating out can be hard, it is not that big of a deal these
days to find the low carb dinners that many are hoping to find when
they go into a restaurant. Though it might be daunting because it
seems like everything in the world is made with carbs, there are
many great things that are simple to do and many restaurants will
happily comply.
My favorite restaurant is Applebee’s, and I have no trouble
finding low carb dinners when I go there. I ask for the house
sirloin, and then ask for double vegetables. They serve an amazing
mashed potatoes with garlic, but I ask them to keep it off my plate,
and to hold the piece of garlic bread. I am always satisfied and the
meal is always awesome. They have other good options too, as long as
you ask, they will normally do what you wish. Another of their low
carb dinners is shrimp skewers or chicken wings without breading.
Most restaurants will work with anyone just like they do.
Low carb dinners in fast food places might be rougher, though
some do have low carb choices on the menu already. However, if they
do not, a person looking for low carb dinners might just have to
improvise. Some will give a burger without the bun and provide a
fork, but in some cases, you may have to dismantle something on your
own. If you are ordering a salad (which you should be if you are on
Atkins) you can use that fork to eat your burger. Remove the bun and
anything else that might have carbs. This would be cheese and
anything else that is not on the list of acceptable foods. You
should ask for the burger without any condiments to make this part
easier.
If you are looking for low carb dinners in a Chinese restaurant,
you do have to be very careful. The sauces they have on many things
have sugar in them and are not a good idea. Though beef and broccoli
is great, the sauce they put on it is not. You can get some steamed
vegetables and perhaps something like pork or chicken on a stick. If
they have a section where they will cook for you, ask for them to
cook up meat without sauces and you are good to go.
